4 Key Beliefs Successful People

August 23rd, 2009

successGoldsmith has found that successful people have great difficulty in accepting input from others regarding their behavior. Goldsmith has worked with hundreds of executives in Fortune 100 companies and has found that successful people have four key beliefs that drive their success and, often, limit their growth. These beliefs are:

I choose to succeed. Successful people believe that they are doing what they choose to do, because they choose to do it. The “I choose to succeed” belief is highly correlated with achievement. The more we believe that our behavior is a result of our own choices and commitments, the less likely we are to want to change our behavior.
Successful people’s personal commitment can make it hard for them to change.

I can succeed. Successful people believe that they have the internal capacity to make desirable things happen. Successful people often confuse correlation with causality. Because they get positive reinforcement for results, they may not have an accurate perception of what behaviors drove those results. This can result in “superstitious behavior” where the successful person repeats behavior that they believe was a factor in their success. Successful people have difficulty realizing that they are successful “in spite” of certain behaviors, not “because of” them.

I will succeed. A contagious sense of optimism is one of the most important characteristics of successful people. Some successful people drown in a sea of opportunity and burn out their staff trying to complete what they have promised.

I have succeeded. Successful people tend to have a positive interpretation of their past performance. They consistently over-rate their performance relative to their professional peers. When positive outcomes occur, they believe that their efforts were instrumental to the success. Successful people’s positive view of their performance can make it difficult to hear negative feedback from others.

Christian T-Shirts: Send A Message That’s Positive And Uplifting

August 12th, 2009

If you don’t see anything you like at the Christian store or if there’s not a Christian store nearby that sells Christian t-shirts, don’t worry because you can get the perfect t-shirt for your personality on the Internet. Just do a do a Google, Yahoo or MSN search for Christian t-shirts, and you’ll find a huge selection of shirts to choose from. When deciding on an on-line Christian store, I recommend buying from a store that sells t-shirts with screen-printed designs.

There are a lot of on-line Christian stores that have their designs put onto t-shirts by way of heat transfer and I don’t recommend buying one of these Christian t-shirts because the quality is not as good.

First look in your phone book to see if there’s a Christian store nearby. If there’s a Christian store that’s close to you, give them a call and ask them if they carry any Christian t-shirts (not all Christian stores carry them).

To send a message that’s positive and uplifting, try a Christian t-shirt. You can find all kinds of Christian tees on the market today. For instance, there are Christian shirts that resemble sports t-shirts, rock music t-shirts, surf t-shirts, motorcycle t-shirts and many other kinds of t-shirts.

You can also find Christian t-shirts that are bold and others that are subtler. When I say bold, I mean the t-shirts that you can tell are Christian from a distance. An example of this would be the “Jesus King of Kings” t-shirt. This tee reads in big print, “Worship Jesus The King Of Kings.”

The subtler Christian t-shirts are the ones that look like regular t-shirts from a far. Take the “AbreadCrumb & Fish” t-shirt for example. From a distance, it resembles an Abercrombie & Fitch t-shirt but when you get up close, you can see that it’s a Christian tee.

If you are a Christian, the kind of Christian t-shirt that will be most appealing to you will probably depend mostly on your personality. Regardless of your personality, Christian t-shirts can help you share your faith and as a Christian it’s something you need to do.

Learn To Take Risks In Life If You Want To Be Happy

August 5th, 2009

It is important to learn to take risks in life if you want to be happy, you may not always get the things you risked for, but you will know that you tried, and in the end it does not matter in my opinion if you succeed or not it is how many risks you try to make that is the real test of how successful you are. No one gets ahead in life from playing it safe. You will not meet your special someone if you are too afraid to risk getting rejected by someone, you will never get that big promotion unless you take risks at your job.

It is very important to continue to take risks in life. To stop taking risks means to stand still in life. Standing still in life is one of the main causes of depression. The entire purpose of fear is to stop you from taking a risk.

Fear is nothing more then the unknown. If you have always wanted to quit your job and open a shop but you are too afraid to do it, this is because you are afraid of failing and risking what you already have.

It does not matter if you are a Doctor, a Lawyer or an infantry soldier in the Army if you want to be the best and get ahead, you will need to take risks. Just remember if no one took risks we would be a world without flight and probably no automotive vehicles at all, maybe we would have no electricity. So risk truly is needed to improve the world.
